Eggs in a Box
Jim is spoiled!!  I slaved over the stove and made him breakfast this morning.  As a child, I loved it when my Mom would make us Eggs in a Box.  I find when I talk about these, that other people have different names....eggs in a blanket, eggs in a nest BUT none of them ever make sense to me.
Luke wanted to buy these the other day.  There was no way I could say no, because my Grandma would always bring these to us when she came to visit.  The box is much much smaller but they are still one of my favorite, and always remind me of my Grandma!!

I have been sick with the Flu, for 4 days.  I finally woke up today and felt great.  Great meaning, almost normal, whatever that is.  Anyway, I know how much my Cousin Clare would like me to Blog, so for some reason I decided to start.
During this week, this little guy, Rienow has been my Nurse.  Not really
, he actually has been a pain in the butt, but when he would snuggle up with me on the couch, it felt so comforting.

On a positive note....Luke went to the Kennedy Girls basketball game on Tuesday night.  He texted me and said "Mom, I won $300"  I was like "WHAT"  He bought 2 raffle tickets, for $1 a piece, and he was the first one selected to shoot a half court shot.  Guess what he made it!!  WooHoo!
I still wasn't feeling the greatest yesterday.  Connor comes home from school, and says "Mom, I have to make a 3d project of a Casino.
I asked him "Did you just find this out today and what would you like me to do?"  Of coarse, at 18 & a Senior, he knows everything, so I mentioned Legos.  Great idea Mom and off to work he goes.
Luke started the project, for him, and when Connor got off work he helped along with Harrison.  This morning Connor said it brought back so many memories, playing with legos, when he was younger.
Brought a big smile to my face.

So, even with the FLU wreaking havoc on me, there were so many bright spots in my week.

Winter in Iowa

In my entire lifetime, I do not remember it being in the high 50's to low 60's the first week in January.  There were people outside jogging today.  I saw motorcycles out, others on Bicycles, and people just enjoying the outdoors.
We have had a very mild winter and should I worry???  Is this Global Warming???  Is it just a fluke or are we in for a very cold spring.  I can't control the weather so I might as well enjoy it.

Date Night

This is a self portrait of Jim and I, not too good but you can't look wonderful everyday.
We went to Red's Public Ale House for dinner, and enjoyed a spinach artichoke pizza....yummmmmmy.

Brett our Bartender/Waiter
We had the best time with Brett.  He gave us some great I-Phone tips, that hopefully everyone knows.  He then told us of his addiction to Angry Birds.  Come to find out he is in the top 5% in the world of all those that play Angry Birds.

I so enjoy "date night".  I look forwaed to it every week because it is just Jim and I.  We spend time talking, lots of laughing, and just enjoying each other.

Laundry Day

Criddle
It never fails......Whenever I bring a load of clothes upstairs, my cat is waiting for me.  I don't even get a chance to fold them and she is curled up in a ball on top of them.

Happy New Year

Luke & Connor

Happy New Year!!!  I am looking forward to 2012!  In with the new out with the old.  Last year was full of a few bumps in the road BUT also brought me so much JOY!!  I have been blessed with a wonderful man in my life, Jim.  I have 2 amazing boys, wonderful parents, so many new friends, rekindled some friendships of long ago, and so much more to be thankful for, as I begin this new year.
I love this saying....this is how I plan on living in the year to come.
